"Photo Food Diary"

A friend of mine got me onto this app called “See How you Eat” (SHYE) and after using it for a few months on and off Im giving it a big thumbs up and thought that some of you could benefit from it as well. It essentially acts as a photo food diary, allowing you to visually see at the end of the day/week what you have consumed.  

The reason I like it is because there is no hiding as you aren’t just going off your memory, lets face it, it can be easy to forget those crackers you ate whilst at the park with your child, or that Bliss balls that you grabbed quickly as you were running out the door.

Its not necessarily about ensuring that you aren’t over eating, it can also make you realise that you aren’t eating enough or actually allow you to see that e.g. your not eating enough veggies in your day (like my diary entry here! Eek!) and make a focus to try and increase this.
  
I have to say that sometimes when my eating is going a little off track (in whichever direction) it does help me stay accountable, be realistic about what Im actually eating, reduce my non hungry eating/snacking and generally be more mindful about fuelling my body.
