β€œPositive mindset techniques”

I created this post for our 30 day winter challenge group to do as an exercise! The members of our challenge are given tasks to do each week in movement, nutrition and mindset education πŸ™Œ

It’s important to know that improving health and losing weight is part of a bigger picture! You must focus on changing your lifestyle and creating good habits and the results will happen 😍

Creating a positive mindset through the use of specific techniques is an important step in creating long term success in your health and fitness!

Here are a few techniques to start practicing on a daily basis πŸ™Œ

1. Have self awareness - Become aware of your negative thoughts.

You might find yourself saying, "I've put on so much weight, I'm such a failure" This is a negative thought

😩 acknowledge it's been said and reframe it with something like "ok I'm doing something about it and I will succeed" and most importantly follow on with something positive such as "I am really happy that I have chosen a healthier lifestyle" πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

2. Use positive self talk - Your homework is to write down 5 things you love about yourself and repeat them each day (out loud if you can) for the rest of this month! It doesn't have to be weight related! Eg. I love that I am an honest, caring person! I have nice hair and so on!

3. Always reframe positive affirmations with a strong start such as I am, I have, I will etc opposed to I'll try, one day I will etc.

Find things you feel currently feel negative about and try to reframe with something positive. The more you say it, the more you believe it.

4. Create a vision - Visualise the ideal YOU. How do you act, feel and look 🀩

If you want to run the bay non stop, visualise it and see yourself running with ease,finishing without stopping! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’ͺ

If you want to be a size 12, viualise yourself shopping for new clothes in your favourite store and feel how happy you are! The more vivid it is, the more powerful it is πŸ‘―β€β™€οΈ

Vision is empowering and it makes you feel excited! I did this technique to finish the half marathon on Sunday and believe me when I say, IT WORKS! πŸ’†β€β™€οΈ
