I got into exercise quite late in life, when an emergency, my wedding, was nearing and I wanted to get into shape to fit into my wedding dress! After the birth of my first child, I joined the gym as it had a creche and instantly I was hooked.
A couple of years later I couldn’t face the idea of going back to corporate life in an office, I decided I was going to make a career out of my new passion and I qualified as a personal trainer.
I haven’t looked back since. Fitness is now my life and I hope I can bring that same happiness to my family, friends and clients.
For me, I fully believe that you can exercise your mood and that a good fitness routine not only helps your physical health but is instrumental for your mental health and a positive outlook on life. I currently enjoy strength training for myself and enjoy planning HIIT and bootcamp workouts for clients.
Whilst I believe in a healthy lifestyle, I don’t believe in strict dieting or abstinence! I’m partial to English chocolate (thanks to woollies for it’s UK section!) and I love wine – everything in moderation is my mantra!
I have worked hard on creating a healthy lifestyle for myself and my family. I have set days for exercise and I build this into my personal routine. It’s really important to be aware of what goes into your body, I think fad diets should be avoided and healthy, attainable habits should be created that work long term
Perhaps the most important part about being a personal trainer is that I like the fun, social side of training as well as the rewards of getting people to achieve their goals and have them hit targets they once thought were impossible.
